Meet Bob Krumm

Outdoor columnist for the Billings Gazette (MT) since 1981. Bob has been guiding on the Bighorn River since 1985. He formerly guided on the western Wyoming rivers, the Green, New Fork and Snake. He is an avid fisher having fished in Michigan, Maine, Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Argentina, the Bahamas, and New Zealand. Bob was a contract tier for Orvis, has taught advanced fly tying as well as being a fly fishing instructor for L.L. Bean's Fly Fishing School. Bob lectures on a wide variety of outdoor subjects with slide presentations.

Bob's guide service, The Blue Quill Fly Company has been a small fly tying and fishing outfitting business that traveled wherever Bob Krumm wandered. Since 1985 the company has had dual residences: Sheridan, Wyoming and Ft. Smith, Montana. In 1995, Bob's son, Clint, started guiding and tying flies for the company. Clint has helped to develop new, effective flies and great ideas for fishing them.

Though the company was initially formed to cover the flies that Krumm tied, it now covers fishing guiding and writing under the same title. Krumm has written an outdoor column for the Billings Gazette since April 1981. He has written four books on the wild berries of New England, the Great Lakes, the Rocky Mountains, and Pacific Northwest. Whether you are looking for well made, expertly crafted flies; a guided fishing trip on the Bighorn River, Montana, or streams in the Sheridan, Wyoming area; or maybe a Rocky Mountain Berry Book; you will find them at the Blue Quill Fly Company.
